New Features in

FusionPro 14.0

In-line Variable Formatting

FusionPro 14 has a new feature to allow formatting of variables inserted into the Variable Text Editor without any rules. Simply click on an inserted variable and push the new format button, or double-click on a variable in the text editor to format it.

Format a variable as number/currency format, date, upper/lower case, or a custom format using JavaScript. This can greatly reduce the number of rules needed for a job.

New Table Creation GUI

FusionPro 14 provides sophisticated new ways to create variable and static tables. A new GUI interface allows you to lay out a table in a spreadsheet-like control, setting the variable content from rules, fields in your data, or an external data source

For simple tables, a static number of rows can be entered and filled with variables from the data

This allows simple straddling of fields, custom formatting of columns, and the creation of sophisticated tables, without requiring any JavaScript programming

Revamped Chart Capabilities

FusionPro now supports radar and donut charts, and greatly improves the layout of pie charts with external labels and greater formatting of existing line and bar charts

In addition to these new chart formats, the method for entering data has been greatly simplified, especially for charts whose content comes directly from a small number of fields in the data. A simple grid control lets you enter in static labels or field names to define the chart layout

Revamped FP Imposer GUI

The FusionPro Imposer GUI has been completely re-written to simplify viewing all the details of an imposition with one glance. This will read existing FPI files but display the information much more simply and quickly.

Option to hide unused data
fields to speed template building

Now you can specify which fields from your input file are to be shown in your variable drop-down list. This can be helpful if you have an input file from a database with a large number of fields that are not applicable to your design. You can now click to hide these fields so they are not shown in the various variable drop-down lists:

Designer Mode Imposition Improvement

FP Designer is a variation of the FusionPro design tool intended to create designs to send to FusionPro Producer, FusionPro Server, or upload to a service such as MarcomCentral. As such, it cannot compose multiple records of output, but generates one record of PDF for proofing purposes. This is usually adequate, but for jobs with imposition, this can be a problem where you can’t test the imposition without running the job through FP Server. FusionPro Designer will now emit a full imposed sheet of output if the test job is imposed:
